Vice-Regal Visit To Southland

WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. The Governor-Gen-eral (Sir Bernard Fergusson) and Lady Fergusson will pay a fiveday visit to Southland beginning on February 21. The tour will start when Their Excellencies fly from
Dunedin to Gore on February 21, arriving at 9.45 a.m. Later in the day they will visit Edendale and Wyndham, with an estimated arrival time in Invercargill of 4.30 p.m. February 22 will be spent in Invercargill. The next day, Sir Bernard Fergusson and Lady Fergusson will visit Winton, Otautau, Ohai, and Nightcaps and return to Otautau to spend the night. Tuatapere, Riverton and Orepuki will be Included in the itinerary for February 24. before their Excellencies return to Invercargill.
On February 25, the Gov-ernor-General and Lady Fergusson will fly to Lake Manapouri and Lake Te Anau, and then travel on to Timaru, arriving there about 5.30 p.m. In Timaru, Sir Bernard Fergusson.wili open the Timaru Harbour Board’s new allweather mechanical loading equipment on February 26 and in the afternoon will travel to Christchurch to declare the new admission unit at Sunnyside Hospital open. Afterwards. Their Excellencies will fly to Auckland, arriving there at 7 p.m. to take up residence at Government House until early in May.
