Catamarans Have Clean Sweep
The increasing Canterbury catamaran fleet had a field day on the Estuary at the weekend by dominating both the Mount Pleasant Trophy on Saturday and the second Estuary Pennants series yesterday. The young Mount Pleasant P class skipper, B. Trethewey, sailed Flip, dominated the small-boat races and on each occasion beat the Canterbury Tanner Cup representative, A. Ineson.
In the P class on Saturday, Sparkey (W. Tomlinson) finished first a mere eight seconds ahead of Flip, but was disqualified for a breach of the port and starboard rule.
