AUCKLAND. Dec. 9.
A petition seeking an inquiry into the election of councillors for the borough of Newmarket in October was dismissed by Mr L. G. H. Sinclair, S.M., today. Six petitioners claimed that Carrick Jamps Corry Brown, one of those declared elected, was not qualified for election.
Christmas Tableau.—Pupils of St. Margaret’s Colle,. * will put on a Christmas tableau during the family service at St Stephen’s Church ir Shirley on Sunday. Members of the Sunday school will read the lessons and the choir will sing carols which have been especially chosen for the tableau.
