St. Margaret’s College Prize List

**l have noticed that the work of boarders who become day-girls degenerates, and the work of day-girls who become boarders improves,” said Miss M I. MuHan, headmistress of St. Margaret’s College, at the annual prize-giving ceremony. “1 have also noticed that boarders face without tension their tests and examinations and the other injustices of school life, whereas I hear from parents of day-girls about all sorts of upsets. “I do not presume to generalise about this, or offer an explanation, but it has occurred to me that when boarders pour out their woes to their parents they have had time to calm down, whilst day-girls' parents receive the benefit of the first fine fury. “Boarders probably find that other boarders do not make a very sympathetic audience. It is worth thinking over. I am not advocating boarding school life, but at least some of its features may commend themselves to parents."
