A Japanese athletics coach, Professor M. Obama, arrived in Auckland yesterday to spend 10 days studying the training of women athletes in this country, especially of middle-distance runners. Professor Obama, of Kagoshima, said yesterday that he trained Japan’s leading woman half-miler and was eager to learn other coaches’ training methods. New Zealand is the last stage of a world trip for Professor Obama.
