Prince Franz Josef 11, of Liechtenstein, has refused an offer of six million dollars for a portrait by Leonardo Da Vinci.
The offer, made earlier this year in New York by the American industrialist, Mr Norton Simon, was the highest for a painting ever recorded.
Last March Mr Simon paid 2,234,000 dollars for Rembrandt’s “Titus” at a London auction.
