Public Trust Appointment
Mr J. M. Fielder has been appointed Assistant Public Trustee by the State Services Commission. He has been controller of' the Public Trust Officer’s estates division since 1963 and was awarded an 0.8. E. in the 1965 New Year’s honours for long service with the R.N.Z.N.V.R. Mr Fielder joined the Public Service in 1936 as a cadet in the Native Department, Wellington. After several months he was transferred to the Public Trust Office in Hamilton. In 1939 he became a clerk in the Auckland office. During World War II he served in the Royal New Zealand Navy. From 1947 to 1954 he served in the Auckland office's estates section. In 1954 Mr Fielder was appointed Trust Officer at head office. Three years later he was made Supervising Estates Officer. He became Assistant Controller of the estates division in 1960. Mr Fielder holds the accountants’ professional examination. He is a commander in the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve and has been awarded the Volunteer Reserve Decoration.
