OUTWARD BOUND
Fees Increased By £lO
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Nov. 26.
A decision to raise the fee for a course at Anakiwa from £4O to £5O, with effect from the course starting on April 5, was likely at the annual meeting of the Outward Bound Trust in Wellington yesterday. The increase will not apply to fees already paid. A report issued by the trust today said the president (Mr J. W. Coney) told the meeting that from the opening of the school, fees had failed by a substantial amount to cover the cost of the school. Mr Coney said the deficit had in the past been met by “windfalls” such as the profits from the sale of Lord Cobham’s book by increases in the number of members subscriptions, and by donations. But the cost of running the school was increasing and the deficit for the coming year could reach £6600.
