50 YEARS OF SPORT
The New Zealand AutoCycle Union, the controlling body of all motor-cycling sports in the Dominion, will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary this season. Mr J. A. Fraser, the union’s South Island publicity officer, said in Christchurch yesterday that a vintage motor-cycle rally would be held at Palmerston North on April 16 and 17 as part of the celebrations. A special dinner and social would also be held and prenarations were well in hand for a Jubilee scramble championship, to which New Zealand’s top riders would be 'nvited.
Recovering. The M.C.C. cricketer, G. Boycott, is recoverlng from sciatica in Adelaide. His doctor said that it was possible he would able to leave hospital In a couple of days.
Emigrated.— The 17-year-old woman’s swimming champion of the Midlands region, Miss Ann Hollick, has emigrated to Australia with her familv, the Daily Sketch” reported. The decision to leave Britain was a protest against the lack of opportunity for the young swimmer in Britain, the newspaper said.
