Queensland Cup To Ampass
(N.Z. Press Association) BRISBANE. The New Zealand horse. Ace of Trumps, failed to gain a place in the two-mile Queensland Cup at Eagle Farm on Saturday after starting equal favourite at 7/2.
The other favourite, Ampass, wnich was backed down from 6/1, won the race in a time of 7-10 sec outside the race record.
He won by five lengths fom Varrich (14/1) with the 33/1 shot, Brown Ray, one and a half lengths away third.
Ace of Trumps failed completely, coming home second to last in a 13-horse field.
