Bad Shortages Possible (N.Z. Press Assn —Copyright) NEW DELHI, Nov. 21. The Indian Government yesterday began preparing the nation for what could be its worst economic crisis in years. High officials revealed that impending food shortages might be much worse than expected and the over-all budget situation this year would be “static” at best. Most public attention was given to a new estimate that India's deficit in food grains in the coming months may be double the three million tons predicted two weeks ago by the Food Minister, Mr Chidambaram Subramaniam.
