Obituary

MR A. R. PAULSEN

Mr Arthur Richard Paulsen died in Christchurch on Monday. He was 37.

Mr Paulsen spent most of bis life at Lyttelton. He was educated at Lyttelton Matin Schoo! and Christchurch Technical College.

He was a prominent bandsman and was a member of the Lyttelton Marine Band. Mr Paulsen was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Holy Trinity Anglican Church.

Until illness forced Mm to leave the Lyttelton Harbour Board, Mr Paulsen was deputy-foreman of the eastern extension.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.

CAPT. W. N. WAITE (N.Z. Press Associattonl WELLINGTON. Nov. 2. A former New Zealand delegate to the Geneva Conference on the Sea, Captain William Norman Waite, died in Wellington on Saturday. He retired from the Royal New Zealand Navy because of illness about four years ago. Captain Waite joined the R.N.V.R. before the war as a rating, and was promoted to sub-lieutenant after mobilisation. After the war he worked in banking for a time, and then returned to the service with a permanent commission. Captain Waite held degrees in law and commerce, was a qualified accountant, held a banking diploma and was a fellow of the Institute of Management He is survived by hia wife and four children.
