Scout Numbers Increase
World membership of the Boy Scout Movement reached a record total of 10,035,540 in 1964, which is 668,578 more than in the 1962 census. Membership in the United Kingdom was 540428.
In New Zealand there were 38,885 cubs, scouts, venturers, and rovers. Scouters brought the New Zealand total to 40,676.
