Holding Her Title
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuttr—Copyright) SAIGON, Oct. 29. “Miss Vietnam” clung firmly to her title today in spite of a barrage of press criticism against her “square face” and “atomic breasts." The chairman of a panel who selected 18-year-old Thai Kim Huong as “Miss Vietnam” from 73 contestants said she would keep her title. Thai will represent South Vietnam in next month’s “Miss Asia” contest in Manila. The panel met to review their decision after a flood of protests by Saigon’s Vietnam-ese-language press. One newspaper denounced her as “too ugly.”
