Inquiry On Cheque
The Christchurch police are looking for a man, part Maori, aged about 35, of medium build, about sft 9in, who cashed a cheque for £64 with James Shand and Company, wholesale liquor merchants, 155 Victoria street, at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. The man was wearing a black reefer jacket and greygreen trousers. Any person knowing the man or anything about the incident is asked to get in touch with the police. The cheque was drawn on the Bank of New South Wales in Christchurch.
