Obituary DR. E. BEAGLEHOLE
"The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, Oct 26. Dr. Ernest Beaglehole, professor of psychology at Victoria University, died in Wellington last week. He was 60. Dr. Beaglehole, who was educated at Wellington College, Victoria University, University of London, and Yale University, held the degrees of master of arts, doctor of philosophy, and doctor of literature. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, the British Psychological Society, the American Anthropological Association, and the Association of British Social Anthropologists.
His career took him to many parts of the world, including the United States, Britain, Hawaii, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru.
Dr. Beaglehole published five books on social anthropology and kindred subjects, and many scientific papers. His main recreational interest was music.
