Changes To B.A. Degree
(N.Z Press Association) .DUNEDIN, Oct. 26. A bachelor of arts honours degree, and a general B.A. of eight units instead of nine, might be introduced at the University of Otago in 1967. Proposals for the B.A. honours degree and for modifications to the general degree were approved in principle today by the university council, on the recommendation of senate.
Details of the proposals have to be approved by the curriculum committee of the university grants committee. The new course will allow the university to cater for two streams of students. Better students will do a more intensive and specialised course from the second year.
