WELLINGTON. Oct. 26.
The troopship Ruby and R.A.A.F. Hercules aircraft during the week-end took the main body of the Ist Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, to Terendak Camp, Malacca, after five months’ operational duty in Borneo.
The troops were welcomed by their wives and families and 10 of the men for the first time met babies born to their wives while they were away. The men are looking forward to leave, and for some of them this was their last operation before returning to New Zealand.
