Sunday Sale
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 20. Parliament late tonight voted to allow the sale of liquor by licensed restaurants on Sundays and Good Friday. A division was called and the ayes won 39-33. Earlier the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) had announced his intention to vote for this clause in the Sale of Liquor Amendment Bill. “My mandate from the people entitles me to do this,” he said. Consideration of clauses in the bill continued.
