Prince Unlikely To Visit N.Z.
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) LONDON. Oct. 18. it was most unlikely Prince Charles would visit New Zealand or carry out any official engagements while at Geelong Grammar School, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said yesterday.
The spokesman told Australian Associated Press: “It is very unlikely that Prince Charles will carry out any official engagements while he is in Australia. "The Queen and the Duke have stated that while the
Prince is at school he will get on with his schooling. “They do not want Prince Charles to carry out any official engagements until after his schooling is completed. "While he is at Geelong the same regulations will apply there as here. He will not be available for public duties.”
On the point of whether the Prince would visit New Zealand before returning to England, the spokesman said: “There will not be much opportunity for him to make such a visit. “As far as we know there will only be a couple of spare days during the term, and after it he will return immediately to Britain.”
