Glass Poles Criticised
(NZ. Press Association • AUCKLAND The use of glass fibre poles In pole vaulting was criticised by the official West German track and field eoach. Mr Toni Net' in Auckland last night Speaking to coaches after showing films of the American pole vaulters. J. Pennell and F Hansen, taken at the Tokyo Olympic Games (when Hansen won a gold medal) Mr Nett said pole vaulters notv catapulted over the bar. Mr Nett said he had been on a technical commission which had met after the 1964 Olympic Games, but the other members would not agree to outlaw tho glass fibre pole.
