CIVIC TRUST MEMBERS
Steady Growth Reported
Membership of the recentlyformed Christchurch Civic Trust had grown steadily since last May, a meeting of the trust was told on Monday night. Although the number of nersons invited to join had been limited, membership now exceeded 100.
Mr A. C. Brassington said the present membership represented persons who were well known in every walk of lif and included those from the solid core of Canterbury families.
The finances of the trust had grown to more than £5OO A letter from a Sydenham resident. Mr Alex Brown, suggested that the trust should hold a trek from Lyttelton to the Colonists’ Plaque in Hagley Park to mark Anniversary Day in December. Mr Brown 4 said descendants of the pioneers should make the trek each year. His letter included a cheque for £2O.
