Doubts On History
(N.Z. Press Association) ■ AUCKLAND, Sept. 13. Geoffrey Hutchins, aged 36, had asserted he was l orn in Wellington, but there was no record of this—and someone with the same name had a substantial criminal list in Australia, Mr E. F. Rothwell, S.M., said today. Hutchins, a chemical blender, appeared before him on remand for sentence on 11 charges of false pretences and one of attempted false pretences, to which he had earlier pleaded guilty. He was remanded further to September 27. Police were instructed to make further inquiries into his history.
