KRAZIKID SQUEEZED
Chances Not Affected
Krazikid lE. G. Low) was squeezed for room when Quick Flight (F. H. Skelton) moved up alongside him over the final two furlongs of the John Grigg Stakes at Ashburton yesterday. According to the judicial committee's report it was noted officially that Quick Flight was lugging in badly, but his rider was making every endeavour to keep him off Krazikid. Low stated that his chance of finishing closer was not affected. The committee also reported that Baywyn, which was destroyed after the running of the Fairfield Hack Handicap on the first day of the meeting, had ruptured a stifle joint. Before being put down the horse was examined by a veterinary surgeon.
B. P. Kennedy, the rider of Birthright, the runner-up in the Tinwald Handicap yesterday, was warned by the stipendiary stewards that in future he must not allow his mount to shift ground during the running of any race. The warning was given after Kennedy had allowed Birthright to move in while being vigorously ridden with the whip.
