G. Bowron Profit Falls To £26,399
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, September 14. Consolidated profit of Guthrie Bowren and Company, Dunedin-based paint and wallpaper merchants, fell by more than 10 per cent to £26,399 for the year to June 30. In 1964, profit was £29,549.
Latest profit is after allowing £5095 less for taxation at £25,998 and £1144 more for depreciation at £15,283.
Directors have recommended a final dividend of 4j per cent on ordinary shares, making 8 per cent for the year against 9 per cent in 1964. • Profit shows a 9 per cent return on increased sharehol-
ders’ funds of £248.814. Last year, shareholders’ funds were £235,224. Trading Profit Trading profit for the year was £52,397, 131 per cent less than in 1964, when £60,642 was recorded. After payment of dividends, profit retained will be £13,399. Total fixed-term liabilities are £77,379. Last year they were £55,045. Total current liabilities fell by just over 10 per cent from £203.120 to £182,202. Current Assets
Current assets showed a slight decline on last year, £333,494 compared with £338,618. This was mainly attributable to a' decrease in sundry debtors less provisions, from £148,648 to £141,990.
