CRITICISM OF DELAY
Hearing For S.P.A.N.Z. (N.Z Press Association) ROTORUA, Sept. 14. “Delaying tactics” used by the Air Services Licensing Authority were criticised by the Mayor of Taupo (Mr J. E. Story) this morning. The decision to adjourn the hearing of the application by S.P.A.N.Z. was costing the company thousands of pour ds. he said. “1 am concerned at these continual del-.ys. Taupo needs an air service and so do other towns on the S.P.A.N.Z route. “I feel strongly that the Government should be subsid Ising S.P.A.N.Z. in the same way it subsidised N.A.C. when it began. Airlines in other countries are subsidised, why not in New Zealand,” he said.
