Chose Long Way

(N.Z. Press Association)

NAPIER, Sept. 13.

At least one person on the Friendship aircraft which blew two tyres on landing at the Hawke’s Bay airport this morning is not convinced that flying is the quickest way to travel. He is Mr J. W. Watson, of Timaru, who has been trying since last Thursday to reach Auckland.

Mr Watson said in Napier today that he had been unable to leave Christchurch by air at the week-end because of fog. This morning, the flight from Wellington left from Paraparaumu because of the conditions at Rongotai airport. Mr Watson said he now had to decide whether to take the long bus journey to Auckland from Napier today or wait until tomorrow’s flight.
