HOUSE LOST IN FIRE
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 2. A farmhouse at Kumeu was razed in a fierce fire this morning. The only furniture saved was a television set in a front room. The owner, Mr J. Despot, his wife and three children, returned to the house for morning tea after working at the back of the farm, to find the house in flames.
Two appliances from Henderson and one from Herald Island attended the fire, but the only water available was from a nearby stream.
