SUDDEN DEATH
Commons Speaker (N.Z P A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 2. The Speaker of the House of Comomns, Sir Harry Hyl-ton-Foster, died today. Sir Harry Hylton-Foster, who was 60, had been Speaker of the House since October, 1959. He contested the last General Election as a non-party candidate. He sits for the cities of London and Westminster, which in normal circumstances would be a safe seat for the Conservative (Opposition) Party. He collapsed in a London street and was taken to hospital where he was found to be dead.
Sir Harry Hylton-Foster was Solicitor-General in the Conservative Administration for five years up to 1959. He had entered Parliament in 1950 as M.P. for York.
