CANBERRA LECTURERS AND SENIOR LECTURERS Engineering Physics Chemistry Government The Royal Military College at Duntroon, an Institution of high standard and traditions. Is located on the fringe of the garden city of Canberra. The College is the senior academy preparing staff cadets for graduation as commissioned officers In the Australian and New Zealand Regular Armies. The cadets undergo a four-year course in the military spheres of Arts. Science and Engineering. The College provides all of the requirements of staff and students in a self-contained community, but also take advantages of the great concentration of academic, scientific and social facilities in the national capital. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Honours degree in the appropriate field, preferably with teaching experience at tertiary level. Engineering—Civil Electrical and Mechanical—teaching and research interests to be stated. At least three years' professional experience desirable. Physics—Experience in various elements of Solid State Physics an advantage. An Hitachi H S7B electron microscope will be available for teaching and research. Chemistry—Post-graduate experience in one of the following fields an advantage: Polymars; fast reactions; applied Electrochemistry. Government—Some Public Administration and International Relations. DUTIES: Conduct lectures and tutorials at University standard. Successful applicants will be expected to undertake research tn an appropriate field. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY: British subjects, eligible for permanent resident in Australia, in good health, and under 61 years of age. SALARIES: Salary classification within the following limits will be fixed according to qualifications and experience— Lecturer: £2400—£3170. Senior Lecturer: £3250 £3BOO. NOTE: These salaries are quoted in Australia currency. Salaries commence from scheduled date of embarkation. ACCOMMODATION: Temporary accommodation will be provided upon arrival in Canberra and appropriate allowance will be paid to married men until permanent houses are available. TRAVEL: First-class air or sea passages from places of residence to Canberra for selected applicants and their families or approved dependants.
