Win To N.Z. In U.S. Tennis

Press Association—Copyright) BROOKLINE (Massachusetts), August 24. lan Crookenden and Lew Gerrard, of New Zealand, entered the third round of the national men’s doubles tennis championship today. In their second-round match they defeated Bob Geotz and Fred McNair of the United States, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4.
It was an easy match for Gerrard and Crookenden, sixth among the foreign seeds.
The Americans, while keeping close at the beginning of each set, were outlasted by the New Zealanders. Second foreign seeds, Roy Emerson and Fred Stolle, of Australia, entered the third round by beating an 18-year-old Mexican pair, Joaquin Loyo Mayo and Vincente Zaracua, 9-7, 13-11, 10-8. In a first-round upset, James McManus and Herb Fitzgibbon, of the United
States, beat Manuel Santana, of Spain, and Tom Edelfson, of the Unitel States, 6-3, 6-8, 64, 4-6, 6-3.
