New Missile Report
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SAIGON, August 25. A United States Navy Phantom jet was shot down 90 miles south of Hanoi over North Vietnam yesterday by what appeared to be a surface-to-air missile. The aircraft, from the carrier Midway, was reported to have been hit on or near the tail. The Phantom was the third United States plane believed to have been shot down by missiles installed in North Vietnam, presumably by Russian technicians.
