Microbiologist Returns
A great debt of gratitude was owed to Dr. G. C. T. Burns, the head of the microbiology section of the Christchurch Hospital pathology department, said the chairman of the North Canterbury Hospital Board (Dr. L. C. L. Averill) yesterday. Dr. Averill said it was sad that Dr. Burns had now to retire for health reasons at an early age. He had been with the board for 20 years.
Dr. Burns’ work had been much respected and commended, both in New Zealand and overseas, said Dr. Averill.
