POTATOES FOR SYDNEY
Konui To Load The First Shipment Between 1500 and 2000 tons of potatoes were expected to be loaded' at Lyttelton and) Timaru on the Konui for Syd-[ ney, merchants said yesterday. [ This would be the first consignment of the proposed 6000 tons export to Australia. The Konui is due at Lyttelton about August 20. Merchants expect the shipment to arrive in Sydney by the end of this month. The potatoes will be handled by the Associated Growers’ Co-operative Ltd., of New South Wales. The president of the co-operative (Mr C. Parker) and secretary-manager (Mr G. Burnham) visited Christchurch recently to inspect potatoes. They said they were pleased with the quality of the produce.
