FIVE WEEKS AT ANCHOR
Ship Here For Meat Cargo (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 11. For five weeks the Belgian freighter, Frubel Maria, has lain at anchor in Auckland harbour waiting for a cargo of frozen meat for Bulgaria. The cargo, more than 2000 tons of beef and mutton worth about £300,000, was to have been the first direct shipment to Bulgaria, and exporters had hoped of an expanding trade. A hitch has occurred in the shipping arrangements, and the ship is likely to be at least another week at Auckland.
After loading at Auckland the 3267-ton Frubel Maria was to have gone to Napier to complete loading. Meanwhile, the ship, owned by Belgian Fruit Lines, swings at anchor in the stream.
