R.N.Z.A.F. Rugby.— Whenuapai beat Woodbourne, 19-12, after trailing 3-9 at half-time, to win the final of the R.N.Z.A.F. stations Rugby tournament for the Isitt Cup at Woodbourne yesterday. It was Whenuapai’s second win in the 17 years of the competition. Cricketer Retires.— P. W. Richardson, aged 34, who made 34 test appearances for England, will retire at the end of the season. A left-hand opening batsman, he plays for Kent. He toured Australia and New Zealand in 1958-59. Defending Title.— Joey Giardello will defend his world middle-weight boxing title against Dick Tiger, of Nigeria —who lost the title to him in 1963—in Madison Square Garden on October 21.
