Sub-Unions May Join The proposed amalgamation of the Ellesmere. Banks Peninsula and Malvern Rugby sub unions was discussed at a meeting of the Ellesmere sub union this week. Reporting on the proposal. Mr D. C. McMillan said that as yet no action had been taken in the matter of boundaries and the question of Incorporal Ing Glenmark into Hurunui had been left for the Hurunui sub union to discuss further with the North Canterbury sub union. It was reported that an Informal meeting between four representatives from each of the three sub-unlpns would be held shortly when the subject would be more fully discussed and plans for next season's football would be formulated Letters were received from the Broadfields and Prebbleton Schools conveying thanks for donations of footballs. 1 The High School Old Boys Club i Christchurch) wrote seeking games either in Christ church or on a home and away basis for its Sst 71b and 7st 71b teams. A decision whether games could be arranged was left to Individual clubs

The Lincoln club mentioned the case of an under lx player who had been injured and whose father had received a substantial accounl for ambu lance and doctor service. The club sought some assistance for the father and Indicated that It was prepared to contribute It was agreed to put the case before the Canterbury sub unions for consideration.

September Ik was confirmed as the date for representative matches against Mid-Canter bury juniors and teams under 17 years. The Ellesmere B team is to play the juniors and Its under 18 team the under 17 Mr G. W. Amyes was ap pointed manager of the Elies mere senior A team to play Canterbury B at Leeston on September 11 and Mr K R Rathgan Is to manage the senior B team against the Mid-Canterbury juniors.
