The Royal Hobart Hospital, at present with 417 beds, centrally situated in the City of Hobart, providing General Hospital and Obstetric services, is a Training School for General and Obstetric Nurses. The Royal Hobart Hospital Is at present in the process of becoming recognised by the University of Tasmania as a Clinical School in Medicine in connection with which a major developmental scheme is proceeding. STATISTICS, 1964-65 Actual Daily Average of In-patients 375 Total Overall Bed Capacity . . 568 Number of Births . . 816 Number of Out-patient visits . 172,055 Assisted by a Deputy Lady Superintendent of Nursing, two Assistant Matrons, a Roster Sister and Tutorial Staff, the duties of the Lady Superintendent of Nursing include the control of all Nursing and Domestic staff. Salary and Conditions are as prescribed by the Public Service Salaries Tribunal and State Wages Board Determination respectively. SALARY RANGE—£A37 4s 3d to £A 38s 6s 3d per week, plus 10s per week for approved additional certificates—maximum £1 per week. A deduction of £A3 8s 6d per week is at present made for a suite of rooms in the Nurses’ Home, Royal Hobart Hospital. the successful applicant will be required to commence duty on October 15, 1965, spend one month with the present occupant of the position, and, upon confirmation at the conclusion of three months’ service* contribute to the State Superannuation Scheme.
