MOUNT ISA MINES
45 Employees Reinstated (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BRISBANE, Aug. 5. The Industrial Commissioner, Mr A. M. Taylor, today ruled that 45 former employees of Mount Isa Mines Ltd. be reinstated. The men had applied for work after the recent strike, but the company refused to re-engage them, Mr Taylor said that he thought the company had treated the 45 men differently to the other strikers, who were re-employed. “I cannot believe a company of the stature of Mount Isa Mines Ltd. selects its labour force in such a capricious or haphazard manner,” he said. -
