Infrastructure
“Infrastructure—l love that word!” said Professor F. W. Holmes, professor of economics at Victoria University, in an address on planning and government to the Canterbury branch of the Economic Society in Christchurch last evening. The infrastructure of the State, said Professor Holmes, was that provision of education, energy, research, transport, communication, “and so on,” which were not necessarily very profitable but vital for the efficient operation of private enterprise.
