Gaining New Members
The Lyttelton branch of the Nurse Maud District Nursing Association had gained several new members during the year, the annual report said. The report said the branch was fortunate in having Sister M. Cheyne as a district nurse because she had introduced the laundry service and home aids to Lyttelton, and allowed the drivers of the meals-on-wheels service to use her kitchen for washing containers.
Officers elected were: president, Mrs J. B. Collett; vicepresidents, Mesdames H. G. Banfield, R. K. Duckworth: honorary secretary-treasurer, Mrs J. T. Claydon: committee, Mesdames E. T. Veal. J. Duncan, E. Harvey, J. Huston, A. S. Phillips, M. Wildey, T. W. Pluck, W. Harteveld, L. J. Shuker. The retiring president, Mrs H. J. Banfield was thanked for her services. The meeting was addressed by the lady superintendent (Miss M. Ray) and Mrs E. Stonehouse also attended.
