Septulets Still-born
HAMBURG, August 4. A woman in Sweden had still-born septuplets after hormone treatment, a West German gynaecologist told a press conference in Hamburg yesterday. Dr. Gerhard Bettendorf would not say when the seven babies were born or give further details. He said their birth—like recent births of quintuplets in Sweden and New Zealand —was an undesirable sideeffect of hormone treatment. Dr. Bettendorf reported the multiple birth at the opening of a medical congress. The only other recorded septuplet birth was in 1894, when all the babies died.
