POLYTECHNIC PRINCIPAL
Graduate From Canterbury “The Press” Special Servici DUNEDIN, July 23. The present principal of the King Edward Technical College, Dunedin (Mr C. I. C. Scoilay) has been appointed the first principal of the Otago Polytechnic. Mr Scoilay will take up his appointment when the Polytechnic begins on February 1, 1966. Mr Scoilay was appointed principal of the Ring Edward Technical College in January, 1963, and was previously principal of the Singapore Polytechnic from 1959 to 1962. He was appointed head of the engineering department there after four years as senior lecturer in electrical engineering at Wellington Technical College. He attended the University of Otago, studying for the B.Sc. degree. He later completed this and the B.E. degree at Canterbury University College.
