Mr A, H. G. Amy will arrive in Wellington on Monday to assume his duties as assistant British trade commissioner. He succeeds Mr K. W. Neall.—(P.A.) Mr A. Manning has been re-elected as Canterbury Education Board representative on the Timaru High School Board of Governors. Mr W. M. Littlewood has been appointed public relations officer of Bechtel Pacific Corporation, Ltd., the consulting engineers of the New Zealand Government for the £3lm Manapouri hydro • electric power scheme. Mr Littlewood was previously assistant publicity manager for the Geigy Pharmaceutical Company, Ltd., Manchester. Mr J. S. Swan, traffic manager for New Zealand of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, Ltd., has retired because of ill-health. He has been with the company for 46 years. The Canterbury Education Board has recorded regret at the death of Mr J. Palmer, who was active in school affairs in Christchurch for many years.
