Mr K. A. Wise Appointed (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 21. The appointment of Mr K. A. J. Wise, of Christchurch, as entomologist to the Auckland Museum, was announced by the Auckland Institute and Museum Council today. Aged 39, Mr Wise has spent the last four years at Christchurch working as entomologist on the United States Antarctic Research programme. He has undertaken a number of special assignments in the Antarctic, where he has been in general charge of the fie’. operations on Antarctic insects organised by the Bishop Museum. He has also taken part in the exploration and entomological survey of the New Zealand sub-Antarctic islands as well as carrying out extensive entomological field work in New Zealand and the United States. Before joining the Bishop Museum, Mr Wise was on the staff of the plant diseases division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and for some years was a part time entomologist to the Auckland Museum. He will take up his position on October 1.
