M.E.D. Capital Estimates
The capital expenditure of the Municipal Electricity Department for the current financial year was estimated at £890,207 in a report to the Christchurch City Council. The electricity committee said that though the estimate was considerably higher than last years (£723,903), this was a result largely of delay in the delivery of large orders. The council agreed to raise a loan of £500,000, the remainder to come from the department’s own resources.
