Brookside And Killinchy A mixed farm comprising 70 acres of freehold land at Brookside was sold for £14,070 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered by the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Association of Canterbury, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr C. S. Gibbs. Buildings on the land, which is subdivided into eight paddocks, include a two-bedroom house, implement shed, granary, and pig | houses. The opening bid was £l4O an acre. There were six' bids of £5, and 31 of £l. Gtenlea. Mr H. K. Montgomery’s property of 529 acres 2 roods 4 perches at Killinchy, was sold by private treaty after being passed in at £26.216. The sale was held by the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand. Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr N. K. Aitken. The normal carrying capacity of the land, which is subdivided into 22 paddocks, is 1500 ewes. Improvements include a three-bedroom weatherboard house, hayshed, shearing shed, sheep yards, implement shed, granary, and men’s hut. The initial bid was £4O an acre. There were three bids of £2 10s and two of £1 before the property was passed in. Cottage Passed In A cottage on a section of 38.2 perches at 67 Mackworth street. Woolston, was passed in at £llOO. The property was offered on account of the estate of A. L. McMul lan by Mr N. K. Olsen, acting in conjunction with Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman. The cottage has a livingroom. sunroom. two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry.
