Four breeds made up the entry, the Large Whites having the biggest selection of 37 head. Twenty Berkshires were also offered as well as 18 Tamworths and six Landraces.

Nine breeders, including one from Nelson and one from Oamaru, supported the sale, the balance being made up of local entrants. Top price of the sale was 56gns, paid for a Large White sow.
