Semi-Professional

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 13. Plans for the establishment of a semi-professional soccer league in Auckland before the end of the current season will be disclosed to the control board of the Auckland Foot-

ball Association tomorrow

night. It will receive a deputation from six Auckland clubs which have prepared basic proposals from which the semi-professional league will be launched. The board will be told that a limited liability company is being formed to control the

proposed league, possibly to be called the New Zealand Professional Football League. For this season it is planned the league will consist of six clubs and games will be played on Sundays. Next season, however, the league will probably consist of at least 10 clubs and the competition will be played on Saturdays. To play in this league the clubs concerned will have to form themselves into limited liability companies and players will be contracted to the clubs.
