LANDSLIDES IN JAPAN
Seven Killed, Homes Flooded (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) TOKYO, July 4. At least seven people died on Friday in landslides caused by heavy rains in Kyushu, Japan's southernmost island, police reported. In Hitoyoshi city, about 5000 homes were inundated by flooding waters from three rivers. The downpour, which started on Wednesday, killed eight people in a landslide in Nagasaki. About 4000 homes in the city were flooded.
